About the project

Project Background

The Broker Mobile App was designed to offer a user-friendly interface and streamlined navigation, allowing brokers to easily access essential features. By incorporating push notifications, the app ensures seamless communication and timely updates, no matter where the broker is located.

The Connections platform initially operated as a desktop solution, providing brokers with the tools they needed to manage their activities. However, through user interviews, it became clear that many brokers faced challenges with the limited accessibility of a desktop platform.

Design process

To meet the needs of this project, the chosen process was the Double Diamond, starting with the Discovery phase, which involved extensive research with Connections users. Following that, the Definition phase aligned expectations based on the data collected in the Discovery phase, and with the problem defined, prototypes were developed and materials were delivered to the development team. This approach ensured a user-centered design process, fostering collaboration and efficient development to deliver a successful app that catered to the users' requirements and expectations.

Simplificar o processo

The app was designed with a user-friendly interface and streamlined navigation, ensuring that brokers can easily access the features they need.

At times, accessing brokers can be challenging, but with push notifications, it's possible to reach the broker instantly, no matter their location, ensuring seamless communication and timely updates.

Having a desktop device can be limiting when onboarding new brokers to the platform. The app reduces costs and enables brokers to start operating with just one mobile device.

Discovery Process

User interviews

The first step involved conducting user interviews to identify pain points and understand the specific challenges brokers were facing. Through these interviews, key issues were uncovered, such as the difficulty of accessing the platform from different locations and the limitations of a desktop-only solution.

Stakeholders workshops

Next, I collaborated with stakeholders to assess the feasibility of developing a mobile app. This phase helped us determine the technical requirements and constraints while aligning the project with business goals.

Card sorting dinamic

Iconducted a card sorting exercise to understand how brokers would prefer to navigate the platform and what features were essential. This helped prioritize the content and structure for the app's interface, ensuring it was intuitive and user-friendly.

Prototyping

Once the structure was defined, we moved on to prototyping the app, testing the design concepts with real users through usability testing using the Maze platform. This allowed us to gather feedback and iterate on the design based on user insights.

Focus on interaction

Connections offers various functionalities beyond conversation. However, for the MVP of the app, we prioritized delivering a connection information area and a robust chat feature. This approach simplified the application, emphasizing its most crucial part and making the app more intuitive and user-friendly.

User stories
For this project, we created user stories with the aim of helping the developers understand the value that the tool will provide to different users and its basic functionalities. These user stories serve as a valuable reference, ensuring that the development team remains aligned with the users' needs and expectations throughout the app's creation.

As a broker, I want to receive push notifications for new messages from my Connections, so I can respond promptly and stay engaged with my clients, even when I'm not actively using the app.

As a broker, I want the ability to pin up to three important contacts at the top of the app, enabling quick access to key clients or leads, so I can stay organized and provide timely responses to their inquiries.

As a broker, I want to easily filter and view the status of my connection, so I can efficiently track and manage my client interactions and ensure that no important opportunities are missed.

As a broker, I want to access detailed client profiles within the app, including contact information, policy history, so I can have a understanding of each client's needs and preferences.

Everything the broker needs in one click.
